Materials:

  • Cornstarch
  • Water
  • Food coloring
  • Ice cube trays
  • Popsicle sticks (optional)
  • Paper (optional)

Directions:

  1. Mix together equal parts cornstarch and water to form a paste.
  2. Scoop paste into ice cube trays.
  3. Add food coloring to paste. The more food coloring you add, the darker your chalk color but be careful because food coloring can stain!
  4. Place tray in freezer overnight.
  5. Take the ice chalk outside and use like sidewalk chalk or use the chalk to draw on paper.
