Project Based Learning

Ready to take your projects to the next level? In this hands-on workshop, teachers will learn the concrete teaching framework that allows students to learn core content while tackling real world problems.

Problem Based Learning is a well researched and effective way to engage students across all ability levels, increase mastery of material and create the next generation of innovators and solvers. 

This workshop will introduce teachers to the difference between project and problem based learning, model effective PBL units and guide teachers through writing their own curriculum. This series is appropriate for all grade levels, subject areas and teacher experience. 

At the end of the workshop, teachers will leave with:

  • a deep understanding of the concrete framework of Problem Based Learning
  • be prepared to teach using Problem Based Learning at their particular grade level
  • have access to sources of pre-written PBL curriculum
  • have written one of their own PBL units for the upcoming year

Schools will be invoiced for workshop fees. Payment is due by the end of the workshop.
Lunch will be provided. Parking at the Discovery Place Science parking deck will be validated.
