Welcome to Discovery Place
Today we introduce you to Discovery Place, a unified organization providing STEM education to the Carolinas through Discovery Place Science (previously known as Discovery Place at 301 N Tryon St), Discovery Place Nature (previously known as Charlotte Nature Museum, adjacent to Freedom Park) and Discovery Place Kids (with locations in Huntersville and Rockingham).
Celebrating 70 years of inspiring Charlotte
Since 1946, when a young teacher wanted to provide hands-on learning to her students, Discovery Place museums have been offering interactive educational experiences to students and families in the region. Today, through four museums in three cities and community outreach programs throughout the Carolinas, we serve more than 800,000 people a year with high-energy, high-impact science education that is helping to build our region's future.
Build bridges to STEM education
Discovery Place Education Studio provides customized professional development in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) to educators across the region at our state-of-the-art facility in uptown Charlotte or delivered right to your school.
