Discovery Place’s exciting ScienceReach program hits the streets and heads to a neighborhood near you. From action-packed assembly programs to interactive presentations for afterschool clubs, ScienceReach can ignite wonder at any location.

ScienceReach is Discovery Place’s museum-on-wheels, bringing educational science programs to your doorstep. ScienceReach programs are customized to meet the age and education requirements of your group and all curriculum aligns with National Science Standards and North Carolina Standard Course of Study.

Information and Policies

Conditions and Information: One designated location is required for all visits requiring multiple programs on one day.

ScienceReach educators must have access to the program space 30 minutes prior and 30 minutes after each session to set up and take down programs. During this time, ScienceReach staff is not responsible for students.

ScienceReach educators are not responsible for monitoring drop off and pick up times before or after programs.

A mileage fee is applied to all ScienceReach programs. Mileage is charged at $10.00 per Mecklenburg County visit and $.50 per mile for all out of county visits. Travel requiring overnight lodging for the educator is billed at $125.00 per educator per night.
