Enjoy a day at Discovery Place and bring the world of science to life for your students. With special limited engagement exhibitions and the first of the Museum’s new exhibits, Discovery Place is an ever-changing experience in exploration.

Enrich your student’s experience with one of the Museum’s unique science classes. Taught by Discovery Place educators, classes are available for all age groups from Pre K through Grade 8. Programs are designed to teach through inquiry, giving students the opportunity to get engaged in and excited about science exploration.

All curriculum aligns with North Carolina Standard Course of Study and National Science Standards.

Registration and Payment Info

Payment is required 3 weeks prior to program or visit date.

Visa, American Express and MasterCard are accepted. A check with your reservation number written in the memo section is also accepted.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellation notice of 3 weeks is required for a full refund. Cancellations with less than 3 weeks notice are non-refundable but may be rescheduled within a 12-month period. There is no fee for rescheduling but visit must be completed within 12 months of the originally scheduled date. For group reservations, changes to the number of attendees must be made 3 days prior to arrival at Discovery Place to receive a refund.

Chaperones

1 chaperone per 10 students required and admitted free. Additional chaperones, booked in advance, are admitted at the $5 school rate.

Arrival Information

One teacher should exit the bus and will be greeted by a Discovery Place employee who will provide check in directions. Please have students remain on the bus until directed by a Discovery Place employee to disembark.

Parking

Cars and vans with clearance less than 8’ 10” can park in the Discovery Place Parking Garage for an additional charge. Parking for larger vehicles is available at an off-site lot with shuttle service for bus/van drivers.

Lunch Options

Space for students to eat bag lunches is available. Lunches may also be purchased through Discovery Place, please inquire about options.
