Explore More Stuff recently gained several new hand-crank generators built by students in the UNCC engineering department.

The Explore More Stuff lab is really charged up about this month’s theme, “Electricity and Magnetism.”

Thanks to a partnership with the University of North Carolina at Charlotte’s engineering department, our lab recently gained several new hand-crank generators, which produce power when the handles are cranked.

These devices were designed and produced by UNCC students so children and families could safely get a hands-on look at how currents and electricity work.

So stop by Explore More Stuff in February to get a jolt of fun as you handily produce enough electricity to make a toy car zoom, a wiry bug jump or a small fan whir!
