A night like no other…
On the night of November 11, 2011, cultural and community partners, elected officials and supporters of Discovery Place, Inc. celebrated the Southern Premiere opening of Mummies of the World. Christopher Perri, Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, greeted our guests and shared with them our excitement to be hosting the exhibition in Charlotte. Marcus Corwin, President & CEO of Mummies of the World Touring Company, then described his passion for this exhibition and how the project came to be. The mummies displayed are from all over the world and it took incredible team work and dedication to bring them all together with the related artifacts. Finally, John Mackay, President & CEO of Discovery Place, Inc. unveiled the exhibition to a crowd of nearly 500 guests.
