I think this is a great opportunity for teachers to bring their students to the Discovery Place!! I am currently studying to become a teacher myself and I constantly hear about how the decrease in funding is affecting, not only the Charlotte-Mecklenburg school system, but education across the state. It seems that funding for extracurricular activities, like field trips, are the first to be cut out of the schools. I feel strongly that these activities are a great way for students to learn, get out of the classroom setting and break the monotony of the school day. Plus, the Discovery Place offers so many different educational exhibits, demonstrations, shows and hands-on activities that would be valuable and interesting to students of all ages. I'm 28 years old and absolutely love the Discovery Place! I think I can speak for all teachers when I say thank you Discovery Place and Target!
