This week we reached a significant milestone in our renovation — the reveal of the first major new exhibition areas — but even as we unveiled these new activities, we are not yet finished. Additional new exhibitions and activities will continue to open throughout the first half of 2010 until we arrive at a totally reinvented and re-imagined Museum in June.

First, we are delighted to welcome you to the first major new exhibitions developed by Discovery Place. Cool Stuff and Explore More Stuff are now open and available to help you to understand why things do the things they do. Cool Stuff gets you involved with physical science in a unique and fun way that sparks curiosity. Through galleries of interactive contraptions and manipulatives, you experience and investigate... Welcome to the new Discovery Place website. This is one of many changes that we are making to the Museum in the coming months. As you might know, Discovery Place is in the midst of a $31.6 million renovation that will reinvent your experience by filling the Museum with all-new exhibits. The process is a long one -- we won’t finish until June 2010 -- but there will be multiple stops along the way where we will introduce new exhibitions and activities that we hope will encourage and engage you in the exploration of contemporary science.

This new website is designed to showcase all of the new exhibitions as they are unveiled and to help you navigate around Discovery Place as we make changes over the next 12 months. Renovating a 100,000 square foot facility while it remains open... Keep reading.
