Discovery Place Names New Board Members

Five new Members Appointed to Board of Trustees

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Discovery Place has announced the appointment of five new members to the Museum’s board of trustees. They include Dianne Chipps Bailey of Robinson, Bradshaw & Hinson, P.A., Lee Fite of Fifth Third Bank—North Carolina, Zaira Goodman, talent management consultant, Rodney Myers of Piedmont Natural Gas and Dan Ostrosky of Goodrich Corporation.

Returning board members include Jeanne Brayboy, Rich Campbell of Cameron Carmichael, Christopher Cecil of GenSpring, Nelson Cosgrove of Joe Gibbs Racing, Chris Cotton of Deloitte & Touche, Patricia Crawford of Wells Fargo, Hilary Davidson of Duke Energy, A. Victor Fields of The Charlotte Observer & Raleigh News & Observer, Leigh Goodwyn of Good Marketing Concepts, Inc., Michael Jones of Husqvarna, Patsy Kinsey of Charlotte City Council and Pease Associates, Joan F. Loren of UNC Charlotte, Mark McGoldrick of HomeServices Lending LLC, Cindy Moss, Ph.D., of Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools, Chris Perri of CB Richard Ellis, Beth Perry M.D. of Signature Healthcare, Julio J. Discovery Place board of trustee officers include chairman Chris Cecil, vice chairman Chris Perri, secretary A. Victor Fields and treasurer Chris Cotton. Cecil, president of GenSpring, will serve his term as chairman until May 2012. He has served as chairman since June 2010 and previously served as vice chairman from May 2009-June 2010. Perri, director of strategic services for CB Richard Ellis, is also slated to serve as vice chairman until May 2012. Secretary A. Victor Fields, chief financial officer for the Charlotte Observer and Raleigh News & Observer and treasurer Chris Cotton, partner at Deloitte & Touche, will each serve from June 2011-May 2012.
