SEAN CASEY TO MAKE SPECIAL APPEARANCE AT DISCOVERY PLACE
Star of Tornado Alley IMAX® film and Discovery Channels Storm Chasers series to host special film screening
March 22, 2011CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 22, 2011) Sean Casey, the daring large-format filmmaker best known as the star of the Discovery Channels wildly popular Storm Chasers series, will bring his whirlwind adventure to Discovery Place on March 31 to host a screening of his new IMAX® film Tornado Alley. Widely considered the most eagerly awaited IMAX release of the decade, Tornado Alley follows Casey, his researchers and their fleet of special vehicles and cutting edge weather instruments as they travel into the heart of one of the most frightening and fascinating weather phenomena in existence.
The special screening of Tornado Alley will take place at 6:45 p.m. on March 31 at The Charlotte Observer IMAX Dome Theatre at Discovery Place. Casey, who will introduce the film, will lead a post-show question-and-answer session with audience members. Admission to this event is $10 per person. Caseys Tornado Intercept Vehicle (TIV) will be parked outside the Museums 6th St. entrance at 6:00 p.m. for photos prior to the screening and doors to the IMAX Dome Theatre will open at 6:15 p.m. for seating.
In addition, the TIV will be parked in front of the Museum on North Tryon Street from 11:30 a.m. 1:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31 and 11:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1 for public photos.
