Discovery Place Holiday Events & Activities
November 23, 2010During this season of wonder, Discovery Place is offering a schedule of exciting programs to provide families the opportunity to discover, connect and be amazed together over the holidays. The full schedule of interactive live shows and programming includes wildly fascinating science experiments, guided aquarium tours, close-up animal encounters and more for visitors of all ages. All activities are free with Museum admission (except IMAX films).

Big Fun (KidScience)

Light Before Christmas (IMAX)
A new holiday tradition at Discovery Place, this animated IMAX film spins a wonder-filled winter holiday tale.
SPECIAL EVENT: Mini Memento Ornament Making (Nicholson Room on Level 3) Friday-Sunday, November 26-28 from noon 1:00 p.m.. Use thermal energy to transform your original design into a mini memento.
Discovery Place will extend the holiday fun by staying open an extra hour on both Friday, November 26 and Saturday, November 27, until 6:00 p.m. Operating hours at Discovery Place will be Friday, November 26, 9:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m., Saturday, November 27, 10:00 a.m. 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, November 28 noon 5:00 p.m. Discovery Place will be closed on Thanksgiving Day.
Admission: $12 for adults (14-59); $9 for children (2-13); $10 for seniors (60+); and free for children younger than 2. Tickets can be purchased in person at the Museum or by calling 704.372.6261 x300.
Discovery Place is located in uptown Charlotte at 301 N. Tryon Street. Convenient parking is available in the Museums parking garage the Carol Grotnes Belk Complex at the corner of Sixth and Church Streets.
